The Kisoboka Trust
St Edward’s School raises funds for the Kisoboka Trust. The Trust, in turn, helps the Notre Dame High School in Masaka, Uganda by designing and funding engineering and building projects which directly improve children’s basic living facilities while they are at the school.
To date we have raised more than £4200 for the Trust, including a donation of £300 from the boys on the Student Council and many hundreds of pounds raised through;
- sales of chutney by the Horticulture Department
- sales of craft pieces by the Design and Painting Departments
- whole school sponsored walks.
The money we have raised in the past has assisted the community of Notre Dame School to become more self-sufficient in growing their own foods and has provided rain water collection tanks for the school, new washroom facilities for the younger children and new stoves for cooking school meals.
In October 2014, the Kisoboka Trustees were presented with £1,000 in funds to help begin a project that will provide sanitation facilities for the hundreds of boys attending Notre Dame School.
We are very grateful for Kisoboka Trustee Norman Martin’s efforts to keep us regularly informed about progress in the use of our funds for Notre Dame.
