Group Work

Relatively new to our Therapeutic Services is a provision for group sessions. These are popular with pupils who have previously attended Anger Management sessions. They focus on various issues relevant to adolescence and BESD.

Topics include social skills, emotional literacy, relationships, pathway planning, staying safe, drugs and alcohol, bullying, street crime and gangs to name but a few.

Sessions are led by members of staff who facilitate the provision of a safe and contained environment. Discussions within small groups address issues relevant to the very difficult stage in life that is adolescence. It is often through such discussions that pupils realise many of their difficulties, anxieties or frustrations are a normal part of adolescence, which can be a huge relief.
